New Releases: What upcoming games are you looking forward to?
This is a nice game. You play as Harry Mason as you look for your daughter, Cheryl. It, of course, takes place in Silent Hill, a mysterious town full of nightmares. The intro sequence can get rather annoying, but, it does tell of days passed. A person watching a certain portion of a home video over and over, reminiscing to a day full of happiness.
This game does well in the story telling element. You can not just play this once and be done with it. They made it to where you have to play through twice, even three times or more, to actually see everything in the game and to really understand what is actually going on. It utilizes the Wii's motion controls beautifully and the lack of weaponry is a nice change of pace. The main thing about this game is that you have to look around. It is more than a survival horror game, it is an adventure survival horror game. The more you pry into the game's elements, the more of the story you will unfold. Things that don't make sense now, may make sense later. All depending on what you do throughout the game, how you answer questions, what you look at, what you don't look at, matters. The game takes notes and creates its world for you. You ARE Harry Mason in this game. Not only are you looking for your daughter, but also for the truth. Some things can get repetitive throughout the game, which is why I gave it a four star rating, but that is all for a reason as well. Play it, or better yet, let it play you.
